Rodney Landers, one of the top collegiate players in the state in recent memory, will play next season for the new Richmond Revolution, the team said in a press release distributed today.
Landers completed his eligibility at James Madison University last season, winning the Dudley Award that goes to the state player of the year. Landers was named the CAA’s offensive player of the year. He was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award given to the top player in the Football Championship Subdivision.
The Revolution will compete in the Indoor Football League. The team will play next year at the Arthur Ashe Center as it awaits construction of a new arena in Chesterfield County.
